Tennis: Vijay league-Third successive win for Spitfire |30 March 2012

They edged out Club 2000 3-2 and defeated Eden 4-1 in their previous two matches.

Spitfire’s victories on Wednesday came in the men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.

In the first men’s singles match, reigning tennis players of the year Sylvester Delpeche beat Selwyn Hoareau 2-0 (6-0, 6-0) before Titou Roquain levelled the series with 2-0 win over Bernard Mein. The set scores were 6-1 and 6-2.

Clyvie Delpeche then gave Academy the lead with a 2-0 (6-1, 6-1) win over Thara Hoareau in the women’s singles, before the duo of Sylvester Delpeche and Thara Hoareau tied the series at two wins apiece with a 2-0 victory over Christophe Levivier and Clyvie Delpeche in the mixed Doubles. The set scores were 6-2 and 6-3.

Spitfire then sealed victory with a win in the men’s doubles, where Antoine Hip-Waye and Bernard Mein were victorious over Titou Roquain and François Levivier. The match ended 2-0 (6-4, 6-4).
In their next league match, Spitfire will face Lift &Slice.
