Anse Etoile primary and Plaisance secondary take top drama contest prizes

This show – organised by the drama unit within the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts – took place at the National Theatre Mont Fleuri over the weekend.

There were a total of seven plays in the competition to mark the 50th anniversary of the World Theatre Day normally marked on March 27.

The competition – which is the first to be organised by the unit – attracted a large crowd including representatives of the conservatoire as well as from the culture department and the education ministry. Also there were several local firms who sponsored prizes.

In the primary school category the Independent School came out second with the play The good and the bad hood and La Rosière came out third with Dan lakour obor larivyer.

The Mont Fleuri school with Kreol se lanmod came out second and Independent third with The truth will out in the secondary category.

There was also a prize for best effort with went to Tou travay i annan son valer by La Misère primary.

There were also prizes for best director Raina Nicette, best writer Michael Sinon, best supporting actor Chrisle Payet and best actor Darren Anaou.
