Electoral reform team reviews Public Order Act |05 April 2012

It was the forum’s eighth meeting and it took place at the National House.
Those present came from all five registered political parties in Seychelles and the Citizens Democracy Watch.

In a separate meeting with political parties, it was agreed to suspend all pre-conditions, the electoral commission said in a statement.

“The forum continued debate on Parti Lepep’s submission on the Public Order Act. It was agreed that next week Parti Lepep will respond to the various comments made by members of the forum. “Once all the political parties have deliberated, the issues will be collated by the Electoral Commission and sent to government in line with the Constitution,” said the communiqué.

The forum will next meet at the National House on Wednesday April 11 at 9 am and members of the public will be allowed to attend.
