National Assembly goes into recess |20 April 2012

It will reconvene for its second term on Tuesday May 29.
During the second half of its last sitting for this term on Tuesday, the Assembly debated two motions.

The first, tabled by the leader of government business Marie-Antoinette Rose, was asking the Assembly to approve the ratification of a Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) signed in 2010 by the government of India and the government of Seychelles.

Members of the majority party approved the motion while the leader of the opposition, David Pierre, abstained.

The second motion asking the government to set up a salary review commission, received the approval of 23 members while two others abstained.
