Football: Barclays league division one-Dynamo bring Quincy down to earth |28 April 2012

Quincy will be disappointed though that they allowed a match that was within their reach, especially in the first half, to slip away from their grip.

The Anse Etoile team almost shocked Dynamo in the 49th second as Alex Dugasse forced his way into Dynamo’s penalty area and it required a great recovery tackle to stop the Quincy striker from giving his team a sensational lead.

Dynamo responded in the fourth minute as Francis Moumou linked up with Marcus Maria who released Malagasy Asman Todisoa whose teasing cross should have been converted by captain Evans Telemaque, but his control let him down at a crucial moment.

Quincy took the lead in this match in the 6th minute after some good approach work by Robin Joubert who filtered a pass to Alex Dugasse, whose clinical strike found refuge in the net past goalkeeper Jules Monnaie for a 1-0 lead.

A minute later, Dynamo should have leveled the score as Moumou broke forward to feed captain Telemaque who had the goal at his mercy from point blank range but amazingly he shot wide.

In the ninth minute, Moumou again created a good opportunity with his inviting cross but with a free header, Marcus Maria could not direct it on target.

In the 21st minute, Quincy was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty by referee Nelson Emile as Ronny Hoareau appeared to have pulled down Quincy captain George Ravinia but he turned a blind eye.

Just past the half hour mark, captain Ravinia threaded a pass to Dugasse who bulldozed his way past Hoareau but on a one-on-one situation, he allowed goalie Monnaie to turn his shot into corner.

As for Dynamo, they should have equalized on the stroke of half time as Maria latched onto a defensive mistake by Dave Malcouzanne to square to Basil Bertin but he thumped the ball over the cross bar when it looked easier to score.

The second half was more exciting and in the 53rd minute, Quincy’s Dugasse showed his strength to find his way past two defenders who pulled him down.  But captain Ravinia wasted the free kick from a good scoring position.

In the 58th minute, Dynamo should have leveled matters from a glorious pass by substitute Jean-Alain Valentin into the path of Marcus Maria but he somehow failed to hit the target as Quincy rode their luck.

Five minutes later, Dynamo were given a lifeline as Dynamo’s pressure paid off when Marcus Maria’s hopeful shot was not held by goalkeeper Trevor Bill. The Dynamo striker Asman Todisoa, who was lurking, pounced on the loose ball to punish him and make the score 1-1.

The goal spurred Dynamo on as Quincy seem to tire and in the 66th minute Maria sprung forward as he glided past a couple of defenders to pull the ball back to Moumou who could not find the back of the net with his wayward finishing.

Captain Telemaque had an even better chance to put Dynamo ahead in the 72nd minute as Maria and Todisoa combined to lay the ball on a platter to him but with all the time in the world, he shot wide, much to the disgust of his teammates.

Dynamo though was not to be denied for their persistence as in the 83rd minute they scored what turned out to be the winner.

It all started from three consecutive corners which Quincy failed to clear and Moumou’s third corner filtered to Bertin who rammed the ball home from close range to make it 2-1.

In the 82nd minute, Dynamo almost added a third as substitute Valentin countered and he exchanged passes with Maria, whose inch perfect cross fell to substitute Elvis Julius who had just come on to replace Moumou. The former Red Star winger’s first touch let him down as he missed a sitter with the goal begging.

Dynamo though had done enough to preserve their six-game unbeaten run though coach Cliff Nolin was far from satisfied with their performance.
