National Assembly resumes business |29 May 2012

The Minister for Land Use and Housing, Christian Lionnet, will be present at the first sitting of the second assembly term to answer a question on the removal of construction material containing asbestos at a construction site at Ile Perseverance.

The question will be put forward by the Leader of Government Business, Marie-Antoinette Rose.

The assembly will then consider three motions.
The first and second motions seek the assembly’s approval of the two treaties concerning firstly, the Joint Exercise of Sovereign Rights over the Continental Shelf and secondly, the Joint Management of the Continental Shelf in the Mascarene Plateau Region between the Republic of Seychelles and the Government of the Republic of Mauritius, signed in Vacoas Mauritius in March, 2012.

Both motions will be tabled by Ms Rose.
The last motion will be tabled by Sultanne Jacqueline, elected member for Port Glaud, requesting that the government put more emphasis on the implementation of the Code of Ethics in the work places as a way of ensuring better service delivery and promoting hard work among employees.
