A festival to soothe and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit |15 June 2012

To officially launch the festival, which will end on June 29, an opening ceremony has been organised on Monday afternoon from 1pm to 2pm at Everglow, Sans Souci, after which there will be Tai Chi, Qigong, Pilates and Yoga demonstrations from 2pm to 3pm by facilitators of the event.

Due to be held annually every June, the Seychelles International Mind Body Spirit Festival is organised by the festival director, David Clarke and his wife Marsha. The event is being held with the support of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

Both visitors and locals alike will be able to enjoy a wide assortment of holistic packages design to boost personal health and wellbeing.

The festival is offering free demonstrations, affordable workshops and specialised master classes in various health and wellbeing therapies, ranging from Tai Chi and Qigong, Yoga, Pilates, Aromatherapy, Ayurvedic therapies, Meditation in addition to some of the world’s finest Spa and pampering facilities.

The activities have been organised in partnership with various local partners. Artists, musicians and craftsman, who play a part in maintaining the healthy and thriving cultural diversity of Seychelles, are also lending their support to the festival so as to bring in the element of art and culture.

The facilitators of the various activities include Duniam Sinon, Bronwyn MacNamara, Florence Benstrong, Marsha Clarke, Tary Yip, Jenny Gilbert, Sylvia, Janum Erne, Coralie Mouge, Robin Hanson, Tim Wheater, Barbara Jenson and George Camille.
The activities will take place at various venues across Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and on Cerf Island.
