La Digue maintain winning record and top spot |28 June 2012

In their first match on Saturday, La Digue took 78 minutes to get past Juniors with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 25-17) victory, while in their second match on Sunday, they defeated Airwaves by the same score. The set scores were 25-12, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-17.

Unbeaten in six league matches, La Digue are now on maximum 18 points, with 18 sets for and only five against.

Juniors are occupying the third place with 11 points, after three wins and two losses out of five matches. They have won 10 sets and lost nine. As for Airwaves, they are now fourth on eight points after five losses and a single win out of six matches, with eight sets for and 16 against.

In the other match of the division played, second-placed Outsiders whitewashed Cadets 3-0. The set scores were 25-21, 23-13 and 25-11. They are now on 16 points from five wins and a loss after six encounters.

In the only women’s league division two match played, Roots Sisters climbed to the top spot on the league table with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-22) victory over Mont Fleuri.

 They have now collected 22 points from seven wins and a loss out of eight matches. They have 21 sets for and eight against.
 
The defeat keeps Mont Fleuri seventh on 10 points from seven defeats and a single win in eight matches.

A sole women’s league division one match was on the weekend schedule, in which Juniors defeated Santa West 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-15). Juniors are now fifth on 13 points from three wins and four losses out of seven matches. They have 10 sets for and 15 against.

As for Santa West, the defeat pins them to the bottom of the table on seven points from seven defeats in as many matches. They have conceded 21 sets and won only one.
