Sun shines on Aldabra’s energy alternative |19 July 2012

This milestone in providing sustainable energy for an entire island community is the result of a four- year, €500,000 project undertaken by the Seychelles Islands Foundation (SIF).

SIF’s EMS Project Officer, Christina Quanz, will be describing the work which has gone into the project, the establishment of the new hybrid energy system and the environmental improvements it is already bringing to Aldabra at 2pm tomorrow at the Seychelles Fishing Authority’s training room.

The SIF hopes that the talk will prove of interest to environmental organisations, managers of private islands, hotels, government departments and anybody else who is looking for a sustainable solution to their energy needs.
