Seychelles congratulates UK as Olympics kick off |28 July 2012
“The UK has worked very hard to bring the world together on this fantastic occasion, and we have every confidence that this event will further highlight Britain’s leadership in the international community, as well as the unifying spirit of sport,” the President remarked.
“The Olympics represent the ideal we all share of a world in harmony and it is fitting that London will be at the centre of this manifestation of global harmony over the next two weeks.”
The President added that “despite being one of the smallest delegations in London, every Seychellois knows that our young men and women have a lot to offer the world, and we are proud to be part of the London experience. We wish all our Seychellois athletes well, as well as all other competitors.”
President Michel had also personally conveyed his wishes to the Seychellois athletes in a special event held at State House last week before their departure for London.
