A large crowd gathered at the International Conference Centre on Saturday to watch these little young talents perform.

Also there enjoying the show were First Lady Natalie Michel, who is the chairperson of the Seychelles Children’s Foundation (SCF) and its chief executive Noella Gonthier.

Guests present included former Vice-President Joseph Belmont and the ambassador for women and children Dr Erna Athanasius.

The show, which has been organised by the foundation, was repeated on Sunday afternoon under the theme I Believe I Can.

Both shows were directed by the SCF artistic director Bennet Accouche.

The little stars captivated the audience and showed that they do have talent by interpreting songs of well known local and international artists such as Patrick Victor, Sandra, David Andre, the late Whitney Houston and La Compagnie Créole.

Trevor Delcy, Sandra, Raymond Clarisse, Jude Ally and Ruth Mathararachi were among guest artists who performed during the show, while a group of students from the School of Dance showed off their dancing talent through a song entitled ‘I believe I can’.

Mr Accouche and presenter Jules Hoareau were both on stage to make it a lively show.
Another part of the show which was much appreciated was when young Stephan Fred from Praslin amazed the crowd with his acrobatic moves.

Others who also performed were Clifford Alexis and twin daughters Tamika and Zara who sang Atrap nou lanmen, kondir nou, while members of Les Rossignols choir wowed the audience with their angelic voices.

For their outstanding performances, the 16 little stars all went home with trophies and gifts, while the guest artists received a certificate for taking part in the show.

Proceeds from the two shows will go towards the foundation’s project ‘A friend in me’ which was launched by Mrs Michel during her habitual end-of-year visit to the Children’s Ward at the Seychelles Hospital last year.

The ‘A friend in me’ programme offers friendship, comfort and joy to children in difficult circumstances, like those who are admitted in hospital, the chronically ill, those with life-threatening medical conditions, children with special needs, those in distress and others needing special help.

Also during Saturday’s show, a group of individuals and organisations who have made great contribution and effort in various spheres of life were awarded through the newly launched First Lady’s Award.
