Football: Barclays league division one-St Louis Suns and Quincy share the spoils |01 September 2012

Both teams had a player sent off though Quincy suffered the most as they had to play the last 15 minutes with 10 men as Shariff Panagary was given his marching orders by referee Egbert Havelock in the 75th minute following two bookable offences.

In fact, the game ended acrimoniously after referee Havelock sent off St Louis Suns goalkeeper Elvis Leopold for bringing down Jerry Freminot in the second minute of injury time with a straight red card.
This decision angered the supporters who threw bottles onto the pitch and a young boy was even hit in the face and received treatment from one of the physiotherapists at pitch side.

As for the match it was a highly entertaining affair though St Louis Suns were unable to field two foreign players, namely Jonathan Mbanze and Gilles Rapiera.

Fabien Cadeau gave St Louis Suns the lead in the 18th minute as he fired past goalkeeper Darrel Barbé for a 1-0 lead.
However, Quincy fought back to level matters at 1-1 in the 38th minute through Randy Gangadoo.

The second half was also entertaining and both teams had chances to secure all the points.
In the 74th minute, Cadeau nearly restored St Louis Suns’ advantage as he turned and fired at goalkeeper Barbé who saved well.

A minute later, Quincy were reduced to 10 men as Panagary was sent off after a foul on the edge of the penalty area. Cadeau took the resulting free-kick which crashed against the cross-bar.

In the 77th minute, St Louis Suns failed to capitalise on goalkeeper Barbe’s mistake as he spilled Denis Barbe’s cross but Travis Laurence drilled the loose ball wide.

On a swift counter-attack, Charles De Clarisse bore on goal and shot agonisingly wide of goalkeeper Leopold’s far post with his low shot.

In the 63rd minute, St Louis Suns’ defender Fabien Maria picked out Cadeau with a long ball but, in acres of space, his control let him down.

St Louis Suns rode their luck in the 87th minute as Georges Ravinia’s fierce free-kick crashed against the cross-bar.

On the stroke of full time, Cadeau released Yannick Charlette but goalkeeper Barbé was quick off his line to block his shot.

In the second minute of added time, referee Havelock sent off goalkeeper Leopold for bringing down Freminot on the edge of the penalty area after consulting with his assistant Eldrick Adelaide.

This brought much protest from the St Louis Suns players and surprisingly referee Havelock did not even allow Quincy to benefit from the free-kick which angered the Quincy players and coaching staff.
