Memorial service for the late Panos Papakokkinos

President James Michel, Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean-Paul Adam, Judge Durai Karunakaran and Bishop French Chang-Him were among those present for the 40th day memorial service of Mr Papakokkinos.

Others included members of diplomatic corps, Nouvobanq managing director Ahmed Saeed, government officials and friends of the late honorary consul.

During the ceremony, presided over by Father Sergios Janosevic, the Archpriest of the Orthodox Church, several individuals expressed their heartfelt condolences through their testimonies.

Mr Papakokkinos, who served as an honorary consul in Seychelles for 22 years, passed away in the United Kingdom last month.

He was a reputed businessman since his arrival here in 1971 and was the chief executive of Skychef.

He was appointed honorary consul for Cyprus here in 1980 and for Greece in 1987.

Mr Papakokkinos was the founding member and representative of Cyprus for the Makarios Fund and was also a member of Nouvobanq and Jj Spirit Foundation boards.
