Tourism academy students contribute to Festival Kreol

Second-year students of advanced diploma with Minister St Ange and special advisor for Culture Raymonde Onezime

Second-year students of Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management presented a cheque for R10,000 to Alain St Ange, the Minister for Tourism and Culture, during the closing ceremony of a sensitisation workshop held recently.

The money was collected during a Caribbean night organised by the students as part of their practical examination.

The Caribbean night was an assessed event where the students were graded on the service, culinary skills and the knowledge acquired in their Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management course.

Accepting the cheque from the students, Minister St Ange said it is always “heartening to see young people giving back to a national event. You are an example for the country”.

He said that “the young people of Seychelles will continue to find their place in the Festival Kreol”, adding that Victoria’s status as the Creole capital of the world is there to stay.
