Two nurses leave for oncology course in Mauritius |26 October 2012

Maggie Morel and Yvonne Télémaque received their tickets and other travel documents earlier this week from Erica Naidoo, president of the Soroptimist Club which is sponsoring the trip.
Mrs Naidoo said the project has cost the club R38,000 which includes the tickets, accommodation and per diem for both nurses.

She added that the sponsorship comes from the money raised through the sale of the club’s lottery tickets.

Health principal secretary Veronique Laporte thanked the Soroptimist members for their support in helping the ministry with cancer-related projects and in the professional development of the staff.

Others attending the hand-over ceremony included health commissioner Dr Jude Gédéon and other high officials from the ministry as well as the club’s members.
