TTG Incontri is the major gateway to the Italian outbound market and the main point of reference in Italy for the distribution of tourism related products.

The fair, organised by TTG Italia, has recorded a growth of 4% compared to 2011 with a total of 50,685 visitors and Rimini has been reconfirmed by Italian and international tourism companies as the capital city for the tourism industry in Italy.

Representing Seychelles at this year’s TTG Incontri were nine trade partners, comprising Banyan Tree Seychelles, Berjaya Beau Vallon, Coco De Mer & Black Parrot Suites, Creole Travel Services, Kempinski Resort, Mason’s Travel and Denis Island, New Emerald Cove, North Island, Paradise Sun.

They were joined at the 48sqm stand by representatives of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), who included the tourism board’s director Bernadette Willemin, senior marketing executive Amia Jovanovic and the regional manager for Italy Monette Rose and her marketing executive Yasmine Pocetti.

This year’s exhibition was attended by 2,400 companies, comprising exhibitors representing the most important Italian and overseas companies, destination and tourism boards with headquarters in Italy and abroad, tour operators, services, accommodation, technology and web services and more generally, all those who wished to meet the protagonists in the Italian distribution, to introduce new features and market their products.

New projects to help boost tourism, such as events like Iron Man 7,030, nature fairs, fashion shows, sustainable tourism new itineraries etc, were discussed at the exhibition.

“Italy remains one of the most important markets for Seychelles tourism and TTG Incontri represents a great opportunity to keep in touch with the Italian trade,” said Ms Rose.

“TTG Incontri 2012 was the place where to set off again the tourism market in this difficult moment of transformation and it has been the expression of the wish to go towards the future with positive intentions and new ideas to improve the business,” she said.

The next edition of the trade fair will take place in Rimini from October 17 to 19, 2013 and the STB looks forward to TTG’s 50th anniversary.
