Dell launched new Windows 8 products |09 November 2012

With Windows 8 officially launched, the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEMs) are ready to launch a plethora of products based on the new OS.

Dell is the first to announce a series of products based on the Windows 8, and based on the first look of products it seems personal computing is getting excited.

Unlike the earlier PCs and laptops which focused on functionality the new products are also driven by innovative designs. Dell’s XPS12 convertible is a point in case, the notebook PC has a screen that a user can spin around, turning it into a tablet when the lid is closed, and with Windows 8 as the operating system the laptop has touchscreen. When in tablet mode, the display completely covers the keyboard, protecting it from dirt and spills.  XPS12 uses aluminium and carbon fiber (used if F1 racing cars), as well as Corning Gorilla Glass.

Dell also announced the availability of its much awaited tablet. The Latitude 10 tablet is powered by Intel’s CloverTrail Atom CPU that has been tailored for mobile devices. The 10.1” multi-touch display is designed to maximise your Windows 8 experience.

The XPS™ 10 tablet is light, slender and crafted with resilient materials so it’s ready to go wherever you go. When you connect your XPS 10 tablet to the optional Mobile Keyboard Dock, you get an additional built-in battery, full keyboard and touch pad capabilities and USB and HDMI® ports.

"We're unveiling a comprehensive refresh of all our consumer and commercial products to take advantage of Windows 8," said Sam Burd, vice-president and general manager Personal Computer Product Group.

"These stylish new products include clean and intuitive touch experiences, the security and manageability required by IT departments, and features to allow anytime, anywhere access to data and applications."

The new line of business and consumer PCs, including XPS 12, XPS One 27 and Inspiron One 23, are claimed to deliver enhanced touch experience and improved security and manageability.

Dell's XPS One 27 All-in-One is designed for creative users with a high resolution display and performance graphics for multimedia creation and entertainment.

The 27-inch All-in-One features a Wide Quad HD Display, which has 78% more pixels than a Full HD display and a stand that tilts the display to a 60-degree angle.

Inspiron One 23 All-in-One PC comes with an enhanced performance, bright Full HD display and includes touchscreen option for entertainment, education and fun for the whole family.

Dell has always been at the forefront of innovation in technology and SPACE 95 is very proud to be a partner to Dell in the continuing evolution of the computing experience.
