Lovemore Jere gave the Malawians a 1-0 half-time lead before they scored four more times in a 15-minute spell in the second half. The other scorers were Wongani Kuchisanja, Thokozani Harrison, Lessman Singini and Abraham Kamwendo.

The result leaves Seychelles without a point in two games and the team, coached by Marc Mathiot, will meet Botswana today at the Nkoloma stadium before playing South Africa tomorrow at the Zanaco Sunset stadium.

Malawi are third in group A, three points behind South Africa and Zambia who each
have two wins in as many matches played.
