Football-Three run for SFF chairman |15 December 2012

The election is set for Wednesday December 19 during the extraordinary general meeting slated for 5pm at the Maison Football.

Decommarmond and the rest of the executive committee handed in their resignation letter to secretary general Jemmy Adela on November 22, 2012 after club managers and representatives voted during the extraordinary general meeting on Wednesday November 21 for all executive committee members to resign after a transfer scandal that rocked the sport locally.

Decommarmond is being challenged by Elvis Chetty and Roch Henriette. Henriette lost the race for SFF chairman in February this year to Decommarmond, who replaced Suketu Patel who stepped down in December last year. Henriette won 11 votes out of 24 compared to Decommarmond’s 13.

The candidates for the post of vice-chairman are Roch Henriette and Dolor Ernesta, while Justin Mathiot and William Zarine are running for the post of treasurer.

A total of 16 nominees are running for the five ordinary member posts. They are Nichol Dogley, Lewis Madeleine, Danny Poiret, Michel Savy, George Bibi, Denjaz Shamah, Cynthia Saunders, Philip Sinon, Gerard Gonthier, Jean Larue, Michael Delpech, Robert Payet, Rajack Ramjuani, Militna Marie, Wesson Joubert and Ralph Rose.

Five individuals were nominated for different posts but did not accept the nominations. They are Jean Larue for the post of chairman, Elvis Chetty for the post of vice-chairman, Basil Soundy, Dolor Ernesta, and Verushka Hoareau for the ordinary member post.
