Field fenced to boost moral image

The English River field has now been fenced off

She said such activities, which have been coupled with littering, have been giving the field – used by students from the school for physical education – a bad image and when broken bottles are left behind it has even been dangerous, she said.

The field was originally secured but vandals had made holes in the older fence to gain access while many were using the field as a shortcut passing through a previous gate opposite the Krishnamart supermarket, which has now been sealed.

New openings have now been made next to the Seychelles National Youth Centre offices and another one near the school but both will remain locked when the field is not in use.

“The activities have been giving the area a bad image especially at this time of social renaissance,” said Ms Saunders.
