Team trained to touch the trialed

They covered topics like counselling, chairman Jude Fred of their Everlasting Love Ministries (ELM) association told Nation at Roche Caiman district community centre where the event took place.

“Many of the subjects they covered are to do with social renaissance, covered from the perspective of Christianity,” said Mr Fred, who said the ELM is a non-governmental organisation which is not affiliated to any religion and that the trainers of the 11 graduates came from different churches.

“They will in 2013 take part in what we are calling a Youth ambassadors’ programme meant to reach other young people in the districts the graduates come from,” he said.

Teasing those who came late for the graduation that they would miss part of it like the Biblical five virgins who were not ready when the bridegroom came, some of the young people told Nation they are keen to start making a difference within their communities focusing on the young who are “facing social trial”.

“We wish to reach the youths in problems but we are essentially not a church.

There are enough churches in the country so once we reach the young people they will choose which ones to join
ELM was formed in 2010 as a registered body and operates under the Liaison Unit for Non-governmental Organisations.
