Raffles hosts Christmas party for Praslin children

The Christmas party was organised by the National Council for Children and Raffles Praslin and the children enjoyed themselves in an afternoon of fun-filled activities, putting them in the spirit of Christmas.

The programme of activities included games organised by the resort’s kids club team and the visit of Santa Claus with his sack of gifts for the children, including teddy bears collected from the teddy bears picnic organised by the resort where 26 local children contributed teddy bears for charity.

A non-governmental organisation, the National Council for Children has been an active advocate for the rights of children and has been vocal in its denunciation of child abuse.

It has also worked to raise public awareness on issues related to children's well-being.

Raffles Praslin has supported the National Council for Children for the second consecutive year by offering its facilities and services for the event and gifts for the children.

Raffles Praslin general manager Simon Hirst said: “We are delighted to support charity organisations year round, and the Christmas season is also an important time to give our support to the community. We are pleased to support the National Council for Children’s initiatives and we commend its work in raising awareness and improving children’s living conditions. (Wednesday’s) event was a great success and seeing the smiles on the children’s faces is the best reward for all those involved in the event.”
