Cable & Wireless to raise funds for needy through SMS campaign |05 February 2013

“As a responsible corporate citizen, telecommunications company Cable & Wireless Seychelles will run a short message service (SMS) campaign to raise fund as of today (Tuesday February 5) until Friday February 8,” a communiqué from the company says.

The short code 9688 will be open for such with the following conditions:
• All SMS sent to short code 9688 will be charged a flat rate of R2,
• Both postpaid and prepaid will be able to send SMS to 9688.

At the end of the campaign, Cable & Wireless Seychelles will top up the amount raised and will hand over the money collected to the National Disaster Relief Fund or related non-governmental organisation. 

“Although some of you may have already in a way or another made some contributions you are encouraged to contribute and promote this campaign so we can alleviate the trauma suffered by our brothers and sisters,” adds the communiqué.
