National Day Lottery launched |04 March 2013

There are 16 interesting prizes, said Marie-France Macgregor, National Day coordination committee member for the lottery.
Ms Macgregor said that for 2011, over 50,000 lottery tickets were sold and this rose to 72,000 last year.

She expects these figures to be surpassed this year for the 20th anniversary of the Third Republic and also because the prizes are more attractive.
The star prize, she said, is a plot of land at Anse Royale. 

Other prizes are a vacation for two on Aldabra, a holiday for two on Desroches, followed by free tickets to any Qatar Airways destination, tickets to Dubai offered by Emirates Airlines, and tickets to Addis Ababa sponsored by Ethiopian Airlines.
There are also several cash prizes starting from R100,000.
