The Eden Kings team

Their openers Tim, a veteran Seychelles international player, and Murray gave them a solid 49-run partnership before Vijay B Spinner, Iqbal got rid of both openers. Tim was bowled for 13 from 19 balls and his partner, Murray made 30 from 31 balls (3X 4, 1X6) before he was trapped leg before by Iqbal.

Then Tarak anchored the innings with Seychelles international player Sandesh Kunder maintaining a high strike rate by punishing the loose ones from Vijay ‘B’ bowlers. Later he was bowled by Murji for 28 (1X4, 3X6).

Then Eden Island Kings captain Harikrishnan joined Tarak in the middle and made a quick partnership of 30 runs, before he was undone by Murji’s slower one. Tarak remained unbeaten on 29 and took Kings to a respectable 141.

Vijay B lost their captain Harish early in their chase for 4 runs, then Mayur joined Jagmal and started the rebuilding, but both were bowled by Murray and Sandesh in consecutive overs. From there onwards Vijay B lost their way. Khan bowled extremely well for the Kings and tightened the screws, which resulted in losing wickets in regular intervals. A late flourish from Siddek made Vijay B minimise the deficit by 25 runs.

Summary – Eden Island Kings- 141 for 4 in 20 Overs (Murray 30, Tarak 29* & Sandesh 28, Iqbal 2 for 23, Murji 2 for 18) beat Vijay B 116 for 8 in 20 Overs (Siddek 25, Iqbal 14, Tim 3 for 14, Khan 2 for 8)

Patel Youth V Aarjay
Newcomers Patel Youth outplayed Aarjay in a one-sided encounter at the Roche Caïman cricket field. Aarjay won the toss and captain Santosh Kunder chose to bat. But they lost wickets in regular interval and bundled out for 75 in 16.5 overs.

The only batsman who marked double digits was Prakash, he scored 26 runs before he was bowled by Pareesh. Nine of the Aarjay batsmen scored in single digit, including four zeros. Pareesh was the most productive bowler with three wickets.

In reply, Patel Youth openers didn’t spare any of the bowlers and chased the target with ease. Naresh and Nitin shared a strong opening partnership for Patel Youth. After Nitin’s dismissal, Naresh and Mitesh took Patel Youth home with 10 overs to spare. Naresh was unbeaten on 28 (4X4).

Summary – Aarjay -75 All out ( Prakash 26 , Pareesh 3 for 14,Nitin 2 for 9, Divesh 2 for 13) Lost to Patel Youth – 79 for 1 in 10 Overs ( Naresh 28* & Nitin 17 )
