High Commissioner Lloyd accredited to the UK

Mrs Lloyd, Seychelles’ new high commissioner to the UK

That was during a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace on March 21.

During her audience with the Queen, the high commissioner conveyed greetings and best wishes from President James Michel and discussed the strong bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Seychelles.

Among the subjects discussed were piracy and the strong support being shown by the UK in facing this scourge, particularly in the areas of law enforcement, judicial support and capacity-building in all related areas.

The high commissioner cited the recent opening of the Regional Anti-Piracy Prosecution Intelligence Centre (Rappic) in Seychelles last month as “a demonstration of the solidarity that exists between our countries and cooperative and collaborative approach which is required if we are to combat global challenges like piracy, international crimes and climate change.”

High commissioner Lloyd took up her post in London in December 2012.
