Karting: round two-Hot racing under scorching heat |11 April 2013

In the junior divisions, Shirin Azemia took victory in the SF5 class, with Ryan Marianne finishing second and Amadave Camille third.

This class was very competitive and Arnold Mein, racing in his own new kart, was under intense pressure causing him to make two starting errors that demoted him to fourth place after he had finished first on the track.

Keval Shakida took fifth place, Joshua Samsoodin sixth and Julio Chetty seventh.
Ryan Marianne leads the table after two rounds with 51 points with Shirin Azemia in second place on 41. Julio Chetty and Amadave Camille are equal third on 35 points.

In the SF6 class, Maxime Tramballent took a fine victory after all the others ahead had either spun or collided. Darmil Shakida took second place, with Shane Dodin third.

Maxime Tramballent has now taken the championship lead with 47 points followed by Darmil Shakida and Keron Thomas joint-second on 39 points each.

In the senior classes which were held a week earlier, Rennick Bonnelame took victory in the SF4 class with Rodney Salome finishing second and Chan Decommarmond third. Rennick dominated the final as he started from the back due to a non-finish in the heats and made good progress to take his first win of the year.

Chan leads the table with 47 points followed by Rodney on 42 and Debra Mellon on 37.

In the ladies’ class, Liza Rene-Cosgrow took another victory in only her second race after a year away. She pipped her closest rival Debra Mellon who finished second, while another returnee, Mitra Labrosse, took a fine third. Shirin Azemia finished fourth ahead of Bernardette Mein.

Liza heads the ladies’ class with 56 points, followed by Debra on 46 and Bernardette third on 33 points.
In the SF3 class, Roland Delcy was made to work hard to beat his brother Marc Delcy, while Andrew Gabriel took third place.

In this very tight race, experience counted more than speed as Roland made a better job of getting by the lapped karts, thus rewarding himself with a win.

Marvin Sophie was fourth, while Peter Fred, Damien Bonnelamme, Dane Decommarmond and Redman Bonnelame finished a few laps down on the leader.

Marc leads this class with 51 points, with Roland next on 47 and Damien Bonnelame third on 37.

In the SF1 division, Dave Rene took a last lap victory from Liza Rene-Cosgrow. Rene-Cosgrow got the jump on Rene at the start and held first place until the last hairpin bend where Rene nipped into a space she had not covered and got by after a little bit of tyre rubbing.

The two did not give each other any chances throughout the race and at times were close to colliding.

John Simon was third. There was disappointment again for Stephan Simon after he ran into engine problems and could not take the start of the final.
Dave holds a seven-point lead (56) over Liza (49) with John third on 19 points.
