Cycling-Francis Louis in control in Victoria criterium |17 April 2013

Under a scorching sun, the Seychelles Cycling Federation staged its sixth race of the year and riders from four teams – Echo Cycling Club, Journey Cycling Club, Strong Riders and St Francis – took part.

The cyclists had to do 90 laps around the Independence Avenue in an attempt to claim the fastest time.

It was Echo Cycling Club’s Francis Louis who posted the best time of 1 hour 41 minutes 45 seconds (1h41:45) to finish as the winner.

Louis’ dominance was evident as the second rider – Ahmad Arrisol of Journey Cycling Club – to cross the finish line was almost a full minute behind.
Ahmad Arrisol clocked a time of 1h42:42 to take second place ahead of third place finisher Hedson Mathieu of Strong Riders (1h42:43).

It was a closely fought affair as Faddy Constance (1h42:45), Peter Alphonse (1h42:46), Mario Joubert (1h42:46), Raoul Gomme (1h42:47) and Ricky Rosalie (1h42:48) finished fourth to eighth respectively, with only three seconds separating fourth and eighth places.

Andy Rose (1h46:23) and Oscar Constance (1h46:25) had a difficult afternoon, finishing ninth and 10th respectively, almost four minutes behind the eighth competitor.
