Referees, administrators acquire new skills to improve local football

The refereeing course in progress

The courses for referees and administrators started yesterday morning in the presence of members of the Seychelles Football Federation executive committee and foreign Fifa (Fédération international de football association) instructors. The training will last until Friday April 26.

During the opening ceremony, Ismael Locate, who is conducting the administrators training, paid homage to former SFF president Suketu Patel for the work he has done in enhancing Seychelles’ football. He also urged the delegates to interact and make the most of this training.

As for Fifa refereeing instructor Carlos Henrique, he pointed out that he is impressed with Seychelles because although it is a small country, he believes we have very good officials.

Mr Henrique added that he was pleased to see young referees following the course.
The other Fifa instructors present are Mark Ephrahim Mzengo and Alain Lim Kee Chong.

SFF vice-president Roch Henriette pointed out that for the progress of football locally, there is a need for good officials.

He therefore urged the delegates to take in as much as they can from this training, before wishing them success.
