Three retire after long service with IOT

The three retirees with GM Madnack
Recently, the Indian Ocean Tuna (IOT) bid farewell to three dedicated female fish cleaners who between them have clocked 63 years with the company.
Nadege Alcindor (25 years service), Felicie Napoleon (25 years service) and Yolande Crea (13 years service) were met by IOT’s general manager Joram Madnack and other management staff in a short ceremony at the company’s conference room.

Mr Madnack thanked the retirees for their devotion and hard work during the years spent at the IOT and wished them a happy retirement.

“All the time you’ve spent working for IOT is proof of your love for your job. We understand it has not always been easy, but we thank you for your commitment and contributions made towards the company’s growth. We also thank you for being good role models for those who have joined the company,” said Mr Madnack.

IOT's human resources manager Helda Port-Louis said it is with mixed feelings that they are saying goodbye to the three committed workers.
“We are sad you are leaving, but happy that you will now find time to do things you always wanted to do but could not find the time. Thank you for your devotion and commitment and I can assure you that you played an important role in the company’s advancement,” said Ms Port-Louis.

As she shed some tears, Ms Nadege Alcindor said: “Work at IOT was tough at first as there were not enough workers. Now it is OK and did not have any problem coping with the load of work.”

Ms Alcindor, who turned 63 on April 20 and has worked for IOT since May 5, 1987, added that she will now spend time with her two grandchildren and take care of her home.

Ms Alcindor was a fish cleaning supervisor from 1987 to 199 and was part of IOT’s team who took part in the 2007 Festival Kreol.
Ms Napoleon, 60, joined IOT on September 9, 1987 and was one of the nominees for employee of the quarter for the period April-June 2008.
As for 61-year-old Yolande Créa, she started work at IOT on August 4, 1999.

During the ceremony, the three retirees were each presented with a hamper and certificate by IOT’s general manager Madnack.
