Football: Airtel Cup-Airtel hands over R200,000 sponsorship |07 May 2013

During the ceremony held last Thursday, Airtel Seychelles’ country manager Vikram Sinha handed a cheque for R200,000 to Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) chairman Elvis Chetty in the presence of representatives of football clubs, officials of the SFF and member of the Airtel management.

Mr Sinha reiterated Airtel’s focus on helping towards developing sport, especially football, and the commitment to help the SFF in its endeavour to propagate football among the youth in Seychelles.
“Airtel continues to value and cherish the partnership with the SFF,” said Mr Sinha.

He added that the company is committed in nurturing the young talents who will become champions tomorrow. And it is with this in mind that Airtel will be announcing some very important initiatives over the coming weeks.

SFF chairman Chetty spoke about the relation between Airtel and the SFF, saying it goes back over a decade ago. He said that over the coming months this will get even better.

Meanwhile, defending champions Côte d’Or have been drawn in pool A of this year’s Airtel Cup. Their other pool A opponents are St Michel, Anse Reunion, St Roch and The Lions.
Pool B is made up of La Passe, LightStars, Northern Dynamo, St Louis Suns and St Francis.
Only first division teams take part in the Airtel Cup.

The teams will meet each other twice on a league format in their respective pools. The top-two sides will then move on to the cross knockout semifinals.
