Sandra and Ion Kid to showcase success in musical show

Sandra and Ion Kid will perform live on May 25

Sandra was the winner of the best female recording artist title at the first Music Award in 2012 and Ion Kid was the award recipient for the best song recording for the same year.
The show aims to showcase the two young artists’ musical successes during the past couple of years.

Sandra’s manager Patel Esparon said the two who are also cousins have worked a lot together both while as members of the group Dezil as well as while pursuing their different  paths as solo artists.

“It is always good to highlight one’s success and give fans and the public in general another chance to savour and enjoy all over again the hit songs which have taken the airwaves and the local music world by storm some time back,” said Mr Esparon.

He noted that apart from their success in the first Music Award organised last year, the two artists did well in the SBC Vibes Cable Tune Award with Sandra winning the best female artist award and Ion Kid the best single of the year with his song Refiz.

The same song Refiz won Ion Kid the best song recording in the Music Award.

Mr Esparon said preparations for the show are well underway and fans will not be disappointed.

“The two artists are putting a lot of effort and energy to make the show a memorable one for everyone who decides not to miss such an occasion and like always music lovers and fans of the two artists will get their money’s worth,” said Mr Esparon.

He noted that Jah 1, a fellow artist and former member of Dezil, will be among the featuring artists for that occasion along with Mervin Camille and others.

Tickets for the show costing R200 apiece are already on sale at Dam’s Enterprise and other usual outlets. The ticket is also a raffle giving those who come for the show the possibility to win interesting prizes including a return ticket to Mauritius sponsored by Air Seychelles.

With the date for the show fast approaching fans are being encouraged to buy their tickets early to avoid last-minute disappointment.

Meanwhile, the two artists wish to express their sincere gratitude to all their sponsors including Air Seychelles, Cat Cocos, Cable & Wireless among others and all individuals who have helped in one way or another to make the show a success.
