Volleyball: Space 95 and Kokonet leagues-Arsu in the driver’s seat |14 May 2013

Reigning Seychelles Volleyball Federation (SVF) Cup champions and winners of the SVF Shield against Friends earlier in the year, Arsu needed only 62 minutes to power past Santa West on a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-10) score.

Boasting six points like Cascade, Arsu lead the standings by virtue of set difference – +6 (6 for and 0 against – compared to Cascade +4 (6 for and 2 against).

Cascade, who finished last season empty-handed, showed they want to win a piece of silverware this time as they picked up a 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 15-4) 103-minute win against defending champions Friends on Saturday in one of the double headers.

In the other big match, Beau Vallon trounced men’s defending champions Premium Spikers 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-23) in just 84 minutes.
In the only Kokonet men’s division two match on Sunday, Outsiders earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-23) win against BSA Spikers who had the day before lost 1-3 (23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 21-25) to Air Waves.
