Cycling-Another one-two finish for Dominique Arrisol and Francis Louis

Eco cycling club’s Dominique Arrisol seconds before crossing the finish line at La Misère

This is the second one-two finish in a row for the two riders.

Arrisol was the winner of the 94km classical circuit race, reaching the finish line up the hill of La Misère (20 metres after the junction leading to the former Tracking Station) in a time of 2 hours 42 minutes 53 seconds (2h42:53).

Teammate Louis finished second, almost two minutes slower in 2h44:43.

Last years’ top cyclist Edward Pothin of the St Francis club finished in third place with a time of 2h45:26.

The other positions were occupied by Journey cycling club’s Ahmad Arrisol (fourth with 2h46:11), Eco cycling club’s Bertrand Lesperance (fifth with 2h48:24), Eco cycling club’s Fadi Confiance (sixth with 2h49:12), Eco cycling club’s Raoul Gomme (seventh with 2h52:10), St Francis’ Andy Rose (eighth with 2h54:48), St Francis’ Ricky Rosalie (ninth with 2h54:59), Journey cycling club’s Mario Joubert (10th with 3h08:25) and Journey cycling club’s Dean Hoareau (11th with 3h11:25).

Eco cycling club finished as the best team with a combined time of 8h17:59, followed by St Francis in second place with 8h35:13 and in third place were the Journey cycling club with 9h06:21.

Saturday’s 94km circuit race started at Plaisance with 11 cyclists at the starting line. From there they pedalled to Cascade and then turned left onto the Providence Highway. On reaching the Palais des Sports roundabout, they turned left again onto the Ste Thérèse road before returning to Cascade. They had to do six laps and at the end of the final one they climbed to La Misère to reach the finish line.
