Karate-Sensei Javier Escalente to run officiating course here |24 May 2013

For the first time ever the SKF will be organising an officiating course to be conducted by Sensei Escalente from May 30 to June 1. World Karate Federation president Dr Antonio Espinos has mandated Sensei Escalente to conduct the course on the latest WKF rules which were revised last year and which took effect in January 2013.

Sensei Escalente will arrive in Seychelles on May 29 and will leave on June 2. He will pay a courtesy visit to the senior management of National Sports Council and the SKF. The opening of the course will take place on Thursday May 30 at 9am at the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga) boardroom, Roche Caïman.

Twenty-six candidates have so far registered to take part in the course which will be followed on Saturday June 1 by the National Championship at the Omnisports Gym at Roche Caïman.

The course has been made possible through the communications between the chairman of the SKF Shihan Celestine and WKF president Dr Espinos during the recent International Olympic Committee conference held in Lima, Peru.

The SKF is urging all local karatekas and officials to make the most of this opportunity to learn from the expert abilities of Sensei Escalente.
