Petanque: League doublette competitions-Mont Buxton teams dominate third round |25 May 2013

In the men’s doublette league, Roland Renaud and Mario Dufresne of Mont Buxton took first position after amassing 12 points, with a total of 87 games for and 33 against (87 - 33). That proved the deciding factor as second-placed Tryers’ duo of Joseph Charles and August Louise also finished with 12 points but with an inferior difference of 83 - 81.
Ranga Chetty and Vinesh Bhantoo of Takamaka finished in third place with 10 points.

It was a much tighter affair in the women’s doublette league as the teams finished level on two points each.

The team of Sheila Chang-Time and Sheena Mangroo of Mont Buxton finished top with a game difference of +3 (19 for and 16 against), followed by the Beau Vallon team of Sheila Adolph and Laura Joubert with 17 - 19.

In third place was a second Beau Vallon duo of Marie-May Savy and Vivienne Finesse with a game difference of -1 (16 – 17).
The final round of the league will take place on Sunday June 2 at the La Promenade boulodrome starting at 10am.
