Pupils from UK school learn about Seychelle’s pristine environment |03 June 2013

During the presentation to 250 pupils by STO's Eloise Vidot, joined by tourism ambassador Georgia Dunlop, live tortoises originating from Aldabra atoll were brought in from Cotswold Zoo. There were also impressive photos of Seychelles' scenery, including the unique coco de mer.

The UK school is already linked with three institutions in Seychelles -- Grand Anse Mahé, Anse Royale and Beau Vallon primary schools -- to develop an online exchange relationship, allowing pupils to swap information and documentaries of life in their respective countries.

Mrs Dunlop highlighted a range of environmental projects Seychelles is currently involved in, which might be of interest to Farringdon junior school, such as ‘The Living Rainforest’. This organisation offers schools the opportunity to enter competitions with interesting prizes, including visits to the world's great conservation areas, including Seychelles.

At the end of the presentation, Miss Vidot ran a quiz to test the students' knowledge of Seychelles, based on what they had learnt.
The response was overwhelming, with students keen to reveal their knowledge of the new and exciting destination.
