Vijay ‘B’ beat Young Stars

After being sent to bat, Young Stars lost opener Rangan and with one man down, batsmen Nitin and Murji shared those two wickets. Then Young Stars captain Dharmesh joined opener Milind and played sensibly for the team. The pair put on half century partnership, Milind scoring 20 runs before he was caught in the bowling of Harish. Then Byron joined Dharmesh and added 21 runs for the 4th wicket. Both got out in quick succession, but once again Nitin got the breakthrough for Vijay ‘B’ by bowling Dharmesh for 32 runs.

Vijay ‘B’ bowled very well in the late overs and restricted Young Stars to 104 runs. Nitin took 3 wickets for Vijay ‘B’, while Iqbal and Ibrahim shared 4 wickets.
In reply, Jagmal and Mayur started well for Vijay ‘B’, both finding boundaries in regular interval to keep the asking rate down. Mayur scored 18 runs before he was trapped leg before by Byron. Then Vinod joined Jagmal and added runs quickly. They added 43 runs for the 2nd wicket, Jagmal made 37 runs before he was caught in the bowling of Ricky. Then Vinod and Iqbal took Vijay ‘B’ over the line in the 16th over. Vinod was unbeaten on 26 runs. Ricky and Byron shared the two wickets for Young Stars.

Summary: Young Stars – 104 for 7 in 20 overs (Dharmesh 32, Milind 20, Nitin 3 for15, Ibrahim 2 for 19) lost to Vijay ‘B’ – 105 for 2 in 16 overs (Jagmal 37, Vinod 26 N O, Mayur 18)

Lakstars outplay Kings

After choosing to bowl, Kings’ bowlers struggled against Lakstars openers Aruna and Janaka, both scoring freely. The pair added the first century partnership of the year, 132 runs in 16 overs.
Janaka made 79 runs (4x4, 6x6) before he was caught in the bowling of Harikrishnan. Aruna continued his way after Janaka got out and scored his second fifty of the season. Lakstars posted 164 runs and Aruna remained unbeaten on 58 runs (3x4, 1x6). Both Janaka and Aruna clearly outplayed Kings’ bowlers giving them a big score to chase in the crucial encounter.

In reply, Kings started promisingly. Tim and Harikrishnan added 25 for the first wicket, but both got out quickly. The Kings were never in the chase after that. Their last hope – Sandesh – also got out cheaply in Sohan’s over.

Lakstars’ bowlers did well and kept the runs checked. Partnership between Tarak and Jonathan took the Kings out of a big collapse. The pair added 45 runs but a brilliant catch by Lakstars captain Thusitha broke the partnership. Tarak made 32 runs before he got out in Dharma’s over. Sugath bagged 3 wickets, while Dharma and Sohan took 2 wickets each. Kings finished their chase at 100 runs in the crucial match.

Summary: Lakstars – 164 for 2 in 20 overs (Janaka 79, Aruna 58 NO, Harikrishnan 1 for 26) beat Eden Kings – 100 for 7 in 20 overs (Tarak 32, Sugath 3 for 16, Dharma 2 for 10, Sohan 2 for 28)
