Vice-President Faure at special AU Summit |15 July 2013

The special summit, called the Abuja +12 Summit and being held under the theme “Ownership, Accountability and Sustainability of HIV/Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria Response in Africa, Past, Present and Future”, is to review the status of implementation of the declarations and frameworks for action from the 2001 Abuja Summit on HIV/Aids, tuberculosis (TB) and other related infectious diseases (ORID) and the 2000 special summit on HIV/Aids, TB and ORID.

The outcome will be the adoption of a set of actions to enhance Africa’s response and efforts towards reversing the impact of these diseases by ensuring universal access to services and strengthened health systems.

The vice-president is heading the Seychelles delegation comprising health minister Mitcy Larue, the Seychelles’ ambassador accredited to the African Union Joseph Nourrice and public health commissioner Jude Gedéon.
