'Big 5' musical tour by Seychelles artists

The artists recently met the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange to present their proposed 'Big 5' tour.
They were accompanied by Patel Esparon, Miera Savy, Jimmy Savy, Derek Savy, Najoie Philoe, Ted Barbe and Lena Laurence who are all working with the 'Big 5' group to make the overseas tour a reality.

"This has been a dream for me," said Joseph Sinon, as the 'Big 5' group tabled their plan to tour La Reunion, Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros and Mayotte to showcase Seychelles music at its best.

The five artists congratulated the Ministry of Tourism and Culture for the work being undertaken to enhance the development of culture in the country.

Jean-Marc Volcy went as far as to say that artists are today encouraged by what is seen as a 'cultural revolution' in Seychelles.

The 'Big 5' musical show which will be launched in Seychelles soon has been given the thumbs-up by Minister St Ange.

"The Ministry of Tourism and Culture appreciates your support to its work. We will give you all the help to make this music tour across the Vanilla Islands a success. We shall appeal to our contacts and partners across the region to join with us to make the 'Big 5' musical tour a success," said Minister St Ange.

The meeting with the artists and their entourage was also the opportunity for Minister St Ange to update them on plans of the ministry to put more focus on culture in Seychelles.
