Waso elects new committee |20 July 2013

The other members of the executive committee who were elected are Mita Charlette (vice-chairperson),
Bernadette Julie (secretary), Samentha Bristol (treasurer), Louisette Sopha, Marthe Magloire, Jourdanne Ernesta, Rita Docteur, Merilyn Desnousse and Nadia Stephen (ordinary members).  
The members’ mandate will run for three years.

The Waso is a non-governmental organisation launched in 2007 with the aim of helping women cope with such issues as bad treatment, lack of economic independence and other social mishaps that are hindering their advancement in society.

Over the years the organisation has initiated different training programmes to give young women skills in sewing and handicrafts and has also helped a number of them start their own small businesses.

It gets help and support to run these programmes from different local and international organisations.
