Windsurfing - Lablache wins IFCA Grand Prix Mauritius silver medal, wins 40km Défi Wind Mauritius crossing |14 September 2017


Praslinois windsurfer Bertrand Lablache is the silver medallist of the IFCA Grand Prix Mauritius held recently.

After collecting just one win in eight races and his worst three finishes were discarded, Lablache finished with a net score of 11.7 points.

Mauritian Fabrice Leclezio was the outright gold medallist among the 29 competitors with a net score of 3.5 points after reaching the finish line first on five occasions.

Third place went to Frenchman Julien Bontemps with a net score of 12.0 points.

Four other Seychellois sailboarders took part in the competition and they finished in the following order ‒ Jean-Marc Gardette (9th with a net score of 34.0 points), Jacquelin Languilla (11th with a net score of 40.0 points), Danny Gertrude (13th with a net score of 65.0 points) and Pierre Wartelsteiner (15th with a net score of 71.0 points).

Meanwhile, Lablache also won the 40km Défi Wind Mauritius crossing ahead of Frenchman Julien Bontemps, while another Frenchman, Kevin Grosjean, was ranked third.

Jean-Marc Gardette was fifth and Jacquelin Languilla seventh.
