Magistrate Court releases carer on cash bail R10,000 |14 November 2017

Following the arrest made on Sunday by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) within the Seychelles Police Department of the 85-year-old female pensioner and her 48-year-old female carer, both for the offence of possession of a controlled drug, the Magistrate Court has released the carer of Les Mamelles on the following conditions:

• Pay cash bail of R10,000

• Report daily to the Central Police Station between 8am and 12 noon

• Not to interfere with any witnesses in this case

• Surrender all her travel documents to the Court.

The ANB officers arrested her after they searched and found approximately 390 grammes of suspected compressed herbal cannabis and 60 grammes of suspected heroin inside the house of the pensioner at La Louise. A machete and a sum of R10,000 in hundred rupee notes were also seized at the pensioner’s house as exhibits.
