ANB Communiqué Female accused released after paying R100,000 cash bail |13 January 2018

The 37-year-old female beauty therapist of Petit Paris who was charged before the Supreme Court on Tuesday January 9, 2018 together with her 45-year-old self-employed partner was on Thursday released from police custody after she paid the cash bail of R100,000.

The cash bail was among the conditions she was to abide by for her release. She has surrendered her passport and will have to report daily to the Anti-Narcotics Bureau Station as part of her remaining release conditions.

Her partner, the male accused, is being remanded in police custody until January 22, 2018.

They are both being charged for the offence of possession of a controlled drug, trafficking in a controlled drug and possession of a controlled drug with intent to traffic. They were both arrested by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau within the police department on December 22, 2017 at their residence in possession of approximately 20 grammes of suspected heroin, a digital scale and two sums of money in two different currencies: R16,500 and USD2,000.
