ANB communiqué - Men fined for threatening agents of former NDEA |13 February 2018

Two men have been convicted for the offence of uttering and sending threats and interfering with agents of the former NDEA (now Anti-Narcotics Bureau ANB within the police department) in the exercise of their duties.

The two men, 37-year-old freelance cook Ronny Rene Reginald and his brother, 22-year-old barman Ryan Reginald, both of Rochon, have been fined R8,000 each.

The sum have to be paid on or before May 8, 2018, in default of which they shall serve a term of six months imprisonment.

The two men committed the offence on July 12, 2017 and were arrested on the same day during an NDEA operation at Rochon.

A third accused involved with them in this case had the charge against him withdrawn by the court.
