Seychelles says ‘thank you’ to Routes team

14-July-2012

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), led by chairman Barry Faure, who is also the Secretary of State, and chief executive Elsia Grandcourt joined Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St Ange to publicly say thank you to the Routes team for their support, guidance and encouragement which have helped make Routes Africa 2012 the success it was.

When addressing the closing ceremony of Routes Africa 2012, Minister St Ange said Seychelles had benefited enormously from this Routes Africa.

“We say openly that we have benefited enormously from Routes Africa 2012, and we are immensely proud that it has proven to be the best attended Routes Africa forum yet,” said Minister St Ange.

The STB and Mr St Ange also said the Routes Africa 2012 would not have been possible without the collaboration of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) who was the co-host of the forum.

“We say thank you to the Minister for Home Affairs and Transport, Joel Morgan, for personally following the preparations and for officially opening the forum. We also say thank you to captain David Savy, the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, and to Gilbert Faure, the authority’s chief executive, and to all his management team and staff. You were our partners in bringing this great aviation and tourism forum to Seychelles. Today we should all be saying congratulations for a job well done. You have all gone the extra mile, including getting the Routes Seychelles organisation the plane at Cap Lazare for the gala dinner, and this was a first for Routes,” he added.

The tourism board also joined the minister responsible for tourism in their appreciation for all the work done by the board’s management and staff.

“We took up the challenge of bringing Routes Africa to Seychelles for the first time because we knew we have a solid team at the tourism board. You have done us and Seychelles proud. Thank you for your professionalism and commitment,” said Mrs Grandcourt.
