Twinkle Twinkle Little Star show-Young kids wow audience

18-August-2012

This year’s Twinkle Twinkle Little Star shows, organised by the Seychelles Children’s Foundation (SCF) and held under the theme ‘I Believe I Can’, took place at the International Conference Centre. Both shows were directed by the SCF artistic director Bennet Accouche.

First Lady Natalie Michel, who is the chairperson of the SCF and its chief executive Noella Gonthier watched the children enthrall the crowds as did former Vice-President Joseph Belmont and the ambassador for women and children Dr Erna Athanasius.

The 16 young boys and girls danced and sang along to some of today’s greatest hits, and some oldies too. They interpreted songs of well known local and international artists like Patrick Victor, Sandra, David Andre, the late Whitney Houston and La Compagnie Créole.

As usual, there was magic as young Praslinois Stephan Fred amazed the crowd with his acrobatic moves.

Guest artists for the shows were Trevor Delcy, Sandra, Raymond Clarisse, Jude Ally, Ruth Mathararachi, Clifford Alexis and twin daughters Tamika and Zara, Les Rossignols choir and a group from the School of Dance.

Although it wasn’t a contest, the 16 little stars all went home with trophies and gifts as reward for their exciting performances.

Proceeds from the two sold-out shows will go towards the foundation’s project ‘A friend in me’ which was launched by Mrs Michel during her habitual end-of-year visit to the Children’s Ward at the Seychelles Hospital last year.

No doubt about it. These young little stars got talent!
Also during Saturday’s show, a group of individuals and organisations who have made great contribution and effort in various spheres of life were awarded through the newly launched First Lady’s Award.

Today we present our readers highlights of the show through our selection of pictures.
