Tourism at fore of careers guidance

This was done in a short ceremony at the STA campus at La Misère attended by Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange, who also officially closed the workshop; chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) Elsia Grandcourt, vice-chancellor of the University of Seychelles Marina Confait, special advisor for culture Raymonde Onezime and STA’s principal Flavien Joubert.

The STA says the aim of the workshop – which targeted primarily careers guidance officers, mentors and careers guidance managers to name a few – was for the delegates to gain knowledge on STA as an institution, its plans and its future projects.

This also includes liaisons with STAs key partner, the Ministry of Education, as well as establishing strong rapport and partnerships with the tourism industry in Seychelles.

Delegates also learned about policies and procedures adopted by the STA.

The workshop was headed by the acting manager of studies Merna Matyot and the coordinator of operational courses Murla Gabriel.
