The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday afternoon at the National Cultural Centre by the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange and the Mayor of Suncheon City Cho Choong-Hoon.

The aim of this agreement is to enhance mutual development through promotion of diverse cultural exchanges and cooperation to pursue common values and interests.

Speaking to the media, Mr St Ange said President James Michel‘s visit to the Republic of Korea recently has opened the door for Seychelles to find avenues of cooperation.

He added that tourism and culture are the main avenues to be developed further.

Seychelles has been invited to take part in the International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay which will be held next year.

President Michel visited Suncheon City, which is known to be Korea’s eco-capital, and has again been invited for the 2013 exposition which will be held there.
