Seychelles’ newly crowned beauty queen calls on tourism minister

Ms Gerry was crowned Miss Seychelles… Another World on May 25 at Eden Plaza and was congratulated by the minister on the night itself.

Minister St Ange, who initiated the first Miss Seychelles ... Another World last year when he was the STB chief executive, said “he is overwhelmed with the success story of the Seychelles beauty pageant”.

Minister St Ange said he “was taken by the Miss Seychelles ... Another World pageant 2013 which showcased Seychelles in its diversity and where it displayed what our islands stand for”.
He added that the Miss Seychelles ... Another World pageant gives all the contestants an equal chance to win.

Minister St Ange also spoke about Miss Gerry’s modesty as an island girl. "I have had the privilege of knowing Agnes, her modest surroundings and know that she will do Seychelles proud. Her special characteristics displayed on the night of the pageant are special to her future success as the reigning Miss Seychelles … Another World 2013,” said the minister.

He said he is supportive of Miss Seychelles ... Another World, adding that he will help to open doors of opportunities for her and watch her grow as our Miss Seychelles ... Another World 2013.
The 19-year-old Seychelles beauty queen said “she is still excited about her crowning and is enjoying the new journey”.

Speaking about her forthcoming involvement in the Miss World Beauty Pageant to be held in Bali, Indonesia on September 18, 2013, Miss Gerry said she is excited about the fact that she will be parading alongside some of the most beautiful girls in the world.

Agnes Gerry graduated from Seychelles Tourism Academy this year.
